Pups from Mississippi Shelter available at AWL
Animal Welfare League (AWL) has taken in over 40 surviving dogs from the devasting weather in Mississippi.
Descructive tornadoes, heavy rains and flooding forced the evacuation of a shelter in Mississippi. The shelter reached out to the Animal Welfare League for assistance and their desparation made it impossible to say no. The AWL is currently caring for 41 dogs that were transported from Mississippi. Following veterinarian examinations, vaccinations and minor medical care, these animals will be available for adoption in just a few days.
The dogs brought to the AWL include a variety of breeds: Shepherd Mixes, Catahoulas, Pointers, Labradors, Beagles, Boxers, Pointers and Border Collies. Most of the dogs are pups with 5 adults. Once these animals become available for adoption, the cost is $135 and will include spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, rabies vaccination, microchip, leash/collar and a 14-Day Health Guarantee (just for our rescued dogs).
“We are in need of financial help to care for these animals.” stated Linda Estrada, Executive Director of the AWL. “These animals are in need of minor medical care, but for the most part, these survivors, are in pretty good shape just a little scared. More importantly, we desperately need homes!”
Adoption viewing hours at the Animal Welfare League are Monday - Friday from 12pm - 8pm, Saturdays 11am - 6pm and Sundays 11am - 5pm.
