With the Canine Flu Epidemic in the City of Chicago and surrounding areas, the Animal Welfare League is taking all necessary precautions and is Closing the Shelter for all Dog Adoptions.

Cats, birds and other small mammals will still be available for adoption.

Though we have no confirmed cases in our kennels, this proactive stance is in the best interest
of our animals and the community.

We will remain open for Stray and Owner Relinquishes.
All incoming will receive DHPP, Bordetella and Flu Vaccinations.

We look forward to re-opening as early as possible.
Please see our website/Facebook for updates.

This has placed a great financial burden on our shelter. Please help us to help them get well and stay well. Financial Donations at this time will be used to purchase much needed medical supplies, vaccines, canned dog/cat food and chicken baby food. To make a donation online, please click here
